Poetry State Forest is an organization based in Upstate New York, in the home where Bernadette Mayer lived and worked for over two decades and is the name she gave to the nearby woods.

Poetry State Forest is composed of Bernadette Mayer’s family and friends, who work to honor and preserve her legacy by organizing workshops, readings, and gatherings; maintaining and expanding her extensive library; hosting a residency programs for writers, scholars, and artists; publishing limited edition poetry publications, broadsides, and other media; and collaborating with others on projects regarding her work.
